  1. The NSW RMS is so lax when it comes to targeting corrupt and incompetent heavy vehicle assessors that they have accredited.

The RMS auditors are more focused on incorrect paperwork eg. incorrect spelling in assessors logbooks rather than target rogue corrupt assessors who are in it for a quick dollar, with no industry experience whatsoever. In most cases of heavy vehicle driver training out there you have the blind leading the blind.

All an individual needs to become a Heavy Vehicle Assessor is to hold the class of licence they want to train and assess in for 3 years or more regardless of any actual industry experience themselves.

Most RMS auditors that carry out audits have zero knowledge themselves about heavy vehicles, just office workers with a rule book.

Its about time the government and the RMS took this issue seriously if they expect to have quality drivers on our roads.

The system of becoming an assessor needs a complete overhaul as not, "quote" - " everybody has the right to become an assessor" which were the words of an RMS employee when this matter was bought to their attention.
